Home Organizing

We are trying to become a more organized family and my huge wall project is a big part of that.  At work, and in other people's homes, I am able to be the most organized person in the room every time. I'm filled with great ideas and fun projects and it's fantastic. At home, however, I have no energy for all that. I'm trying to turn that around the best way I can and so I created a Home Organizing Center.

I made a calendar, chore charts, a place to keep school info, a grocery list and menu request board for all the boys, a Christmas and Birthday wish list board, and a master to do list board. Discovering you can use glass as dry erase boards opened all kinds of windows for me. I just used random old picture frames and put scrapbook paper in them. The big UK board is made of folders behind the glass. I could technically paint the frames to all match but that is a project for another day....

The chore lists are great! They can be wiped off and reused every week.

This bulletin board is for school lunch calendars and such. The football stuff is added to match the wall on the other side, which is all UK football posters.

The master to do list board has spots for not just things to do, buy, and mail, but also movies we are looking for and music we want.
You always see a preview for a movie and think "I want to see that."
but then forget about it.
Now we have a spot to hurry up and write it down before we forget.

A central spot for Christmas and Birthday requests.
I like having this out so they can add to it and I can refer to it quickly when grandparents ask me what the kids want.

This is the biggest frame. The top says "Hey mom! Can you make.." because they always mean to ask me to add to our monthly menu and forget. The rest of the board is for grocery store requests. I shop once a month so its always a tell me now or forever hold your peace sort of thing. This will give them a better shot at remembering.
