Feeling Untouchable?

I am not untouchable. This is the theory behind a series of sermons at my church. It's aimed at "untouchable" subjects but also at "untouchable" people. Or, rather, people who feel like their choices, mistakes, their pain makes them untouchable to God.

It has been a fascinating series but also a painful one for me. We have focused on subjects that are uncomfortable and hard to hear. You'd think I'd hide from that but really? I wish I was included.

I'd love to stand up there and tell those who are listening a little bit about being untouchable. About having to force myself to look in the mirror and see me for me, and not for my
painful past. The opportunity isn't currently available so instead I'm going to tell you. It'll take a few blog entries to say it all but here it goes...

Before I say a word about me, let me tell a little bit about you. YOU are not untouchable, no matter what you've done, no matter what's been done to you. Even if you can't seem to find a single person around you that understands, even if you struggle just to say the words... Just know. Know that God sees you... He isn't looking at your mistakes, He is seeking to hug you, to heal you, to forgive you, to help you forgive.

There is a cool new website iamnotuntouchable.com where you can find out more about actual people who do care. You can also anonymously confess to what ever is weighing down your heart.
